Ivory J Shelton, MD


Dr. Shelton is originally from Unicoi County in Eastern Tennessee.  She completed both her undergraduate education and medical education at Wake Forest University and the Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC.  She then moved to Nashville, TN for her Pediatric Residency at Vanderbilt and is currently completing Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship training here at the University of Louisville and Norton Children’s Hospital.  Through her training she has continually cultivated a passion for advocacy, ethics, and health justice.  At the conclusion of her training, she will have earned a Master of Arts Degree in Applied Philosophy and Clinical Bioethics.  She enjoys traveling with her fiancé, Joseph, and their Staffordshire Terrier, Gwennie, to see their friends and loved ones across the country.  She loves curating new, eclectic Spotify playlists and attending concerts of her favorite artists.
